Where You Are Going
Week 1 begins with a brief overview of the importance of the Internet, intranets,
and the World Wide Web. You will get an introductory look at the features of Visual
InterDev and how the tool fits into the big picture. I discuss design and development
considerations you need to keep in mind when building your applications, including
development and deployment platforms, browser features and extensions to HTML, and
effective user interface design. You will be developing your first Visual InterDev
project by mid-week and be exposed to some of the advanced features on the client
machine, like multimedia and client-side script. The Workshops and Quizzes enable
you to test your knowledge one chapter at a time. During this week, you will be introduced
to the fundamentals that will provide the basis for learning more advanced features
of Visual InterDev.
