About the CD ROM


CONTENTS

This CD has been created in HTML and can be viewed by any browser.

The software included with this CD is mostly geared toward a Windows NT Server system or at the very least a Win32 system.

An Internet connection is also recommended since there are a number of sources that this CD links to.

CD START INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Place the CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive.
  2. Launch your Web browser.
  3. From your Web browser, select Open File from the File menu. Select your CD-ROM drive (usually drive D), then select the file called welcome.htm.

The CD ROM which accompanies this book includes the following:

as well as other resources concerning Perl and Windows NT. To navigate the CD ROM you can use any HTML browser, like Netscape Navigator, to find the welcome.htm file. This file will start you on your journey through the various resources on the CD ROM. To install the various programs included with the CD ROM in most cases please use the familiar setup.exe included with each program. And don't forget to read the READ MEs which come with each program-a lot of problems you will encounter with this software will be solved in the documentation accompanying it.

Please remember that if you are online while you are using this CD-ROM you will be able to connect to the Web resources, like the author's home page, that have been HTML linked in the CD-ROM itself and make full use of the information it provides.
