What’s on the Disc

The companion CD-ROM contains the Java[tm] Developer's Kit from Sun, other programs mentioned in the book, and many useful examples.

Windows NT Installation Instructions
  1. Insert the CD-ROM disc into your CD-ROM drive.

  2. From File Manager or Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu.

  3. Type <drive>CDSETUP and press Enter, where <drive> corresponds to the drive letter of your CD-ROM. For example, if your CD-ROM is drive D, type D:CDSETUP and press Enter.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions in the installation program. Files will be installed to a directory named \CWA, unless you choose a different directory during installation.

INSTALL creates a Windows program manager group called Create Web Applets. This group contains icons for exploring the CD-ROM.

Windows 95 Installation Instructions

  1. If Windows 95 is installed on your computer, and you have the AutoPlay feature enabled, the Guide to the CD-ROM program starts automatically whenever you insert the disc into your CD-ROM drive.

To learn how to use the Guide to the CD-ROM program, press F1 from any screen in the program.
