10 Minute Guide to
Schedule+ for Windows 95

Introduction

How did we ever keep organized before the advent of paper? Did the busy Cro-Magnon executive chisel his weekly appointments onto stone, or did he rely on leafy Post-It style notes stuck up with tar around the office cave? Over the years, weíve evolved to rely on paper to organize our lives. (Of course, there are some gifted people who keep themselves organized without paper, but theyíre very rare.)

Paper helps us keep track of our busy lives. We remind ourselves of important meetings and dates with lists and notes scribbled onto large and small bits of paper or collections of paper. Organizing those many scraps of paper can often prove daunting. There are a variety of methods to employ, and perhaps you yourself use a combination of several. Some people file notes away into leather-bound organizers that they tote around everywhere they go; others keep their important papers in boxes that they hide in closets or push under the desk. Still others maintain their busy schedules through a visual display of sticky notes plastered about their desk and computer.

Regardless of your method of organization, thereís plenty of room for disaster to strike. Nothing brings on a panic attack faster than realizing that you misplaced a piece of paper with crucial information on it. Suddenly, your organized life is in chaos.

Isnít it about time you evolved to use another organizational method, one without so much focus on paper? If you just purchased a copy of Microsoftís Schedule+ program, youíre well on your way to evolving.

What Is Schedule+?

You can now organize yourself safely and electronically on your own computer with Microsoftís Schedule+. Schedule+ is actually a Personal Information Manager, or PIM, application. PIMs help you keep your daily life organized and free from unexpected chaos. Schedule+ resembles a personal organizer, a time-management tool popular these days in the business community. Most organizers are set up with sections that you arrange in a three-ring binder. Each section in the binder helps you organize a particular part of your daily life. Schedule+ comes with sections, too. Hereís what youíll find in your Schedule+ program:

  • Appointment Book Use this feature to keep track of daily and weekly appointments and to set up reminders. You can even set up alarms that beep to remind you of an appointment.

  • To Do list Organize your daily or weekly tasks and prioritize things you have to keep track of.

  • Contact Enter your business contacts and keep a list of names, addresses, and phone numbers of people you need to reach often.

  • Planner Organize meetings and attendees with the Schedule+ Planner feature. The Plannerís Meeting Wizard helps you coordinate meeting times.

  • Even Stay ahead of special occasions, including birthdays, anniversaries, conferences, and more, with the Events feature.

With Schedule+ you can keep track of daily appointments and meetings, prioritize your work, and do a whole lot more. Naturally, all of this electronic organization makes your life easier. At least you wonít have to worry about losing bits of paper anymore, or trying to remember what you need to accomplish each day.
