Installation from CDROM:
----------------------------------------

1. Login as a user who has full Administrator privileges.

2. Run Setup and follow the instructions provided on screen.
   If you see a list of languages, double click on your preference.

3. Specify a destination to Install PC Maclan.

4. After all protocol files are copied, Select the service tab and press the
   add button to Add the services you'd like to install.

5. Close the network control panel.

6. Select Yes that you want to restart you computer.  Be sure to remove
   the floppy if it is still in drive a.


TO UNINSTALL THIS VERSION:
----------------------------------------

1. Select the Network control panel, Services tab page and select
   Miramar AppleTalk services.  Click the Remove button.  Repeat for each
   remaining service.

2. Select the Protocol tab page and select Miramar AppleTalk protocol.
   Click the Remove button.

3. Restart your computer.


Installation from Diskette:
----------------------------------------

1. Login as an Administrator User.

2. Open the Network.

3. Specify a destination to Install PC Maclan.

4. After all protocol files are copied, Select the service tab and press the
   add button to Add the services you'd like to install.

5. Close the network control panel.

6. Select Yes that you want to restart you computer.  Be sure to remove
   the floppy if it is still in drive a.

DEMO Version Issues   DEMO Version Issues   DEMO Version Issues

The following issues are known to occur in the DEMO mode of operation.

1. If, during installation, an error reporting an inability to read a DLL is
   seen, rename the directory from which the installation is being performed to
   to a name with 8 or fewer characters without any spaces or other punctuation.

2. If you continue to print from your application after the 30 minutes since
   startup, the jobs will not print until you restart your computer.  Then
   they will all print with a watermark impression.

3. Under some circumstances, an error message is displayed saying that
   Demo mode will not function without the AppleTalk Messenger Service loaded.
   However, the Messenger soon loads and the demo mode functions properly.

4. While using the File Server in Demo mode, the only username that will
   accept a connection from a Mac is 'Demo'.  Initially, the password for the 
   user 'Demo' is blank.  You may change the password once the File Server
   has been started.
